Understanding Tech Addiction Workshops

The Understanding Tech Addiction workshop explores how smartphones, social media, gaming, and other digital technologies can lead to compulsive use.

 

Participants learn about the psychological and neurological mechanisms behind tech addiction, its impact on attention, sleep, mental health, relationships, and productivity, and how digital platforms are designed to maximize engagement.

 

The workshop also provides practical strategies for developing healthier technology habits, improving digital well-being, and maintaining a balanced relationship with technology.

Workshops are run in evenings and weekends in Kilkenny, Waterford, and Laois ( See EVENTS for Details)

"Understanding Tech Addiction" Seminars

These seminars focus primarily on teachers and SNAs who work in primary and second-level schools.

 

The seminar explores how smartphones, social media, gaming, and other digital technologies can lead to compulsive use. Participants learn about the psychological and neurological mechanisms behind tech addiction and its impact on attention, learning, classroom behaviour, teacher and peer relationships,

 

Participants are also taught to identify TA symptoms early and are provided with strategies for dealing with them

 

The seminar encourages schools to adopt a balanced approach to technology integration and provides management tools and strategies that promote augmented access to information, the development of computer literacy, increased collaboration, stimulation of creativity, and support for personalised learning, while avoiding approaches that may result in distraction, diminished attention spans, and an overdependence on screens. 

 

Seminars are run after school in Kilkenny, Waterford, and Laois.
